Effective,
long-term management of Cambodia’s fuelwood resources would
be greatly enhanced by nationwide co-operation between all relevant
communities, agencies and government departments.
To this end, CFSP is promoting the idea of a National
Wood Energy Management Policy, that would define a national action
plan on wood energy. A working group would co-ordinate the outworking
of the policy, and would in turn be accountable to a steering committee
that would meet 3 or 4 times a year and define policy.
Related to this, CFSP is working towards establishing
a National Protocol on laboratory cook stove testing and field stove
testing.
CFSP is supplies the Royal Government of Cambodia
with data on the supply and demand of fuelwood to support efforts
to regulate the use of wood energy resources.
